How long does an ink cartridge last in a printer?
I have a HP printer all-in-one.I put the ink cartridge in my printer.I printed 18 pictures.The ink is almost finished.Is it normal?It says that the level of ink is only estimated.And actualy ink level may vary.

Cheap all in one printers use ink cartridges that hold very little ink. The most common mistake among people who purchase printers is that they buy the cheapest one they can find. Printer manufacturers realize that people are going to be more inclined to purchase a cheaper printer. Hence, printer manufacurers but small ink cartridges into these printers, forcing customers to purchase ink more often.
On the package the HP ink comes in, on the very back it will tell you how much ink is in the cartridge. Anything under 5mL is considered a small cartridge. I cannot tell if your printer uses small cartridges if you do not provide the exact model.
Whenever I purchase a printer, I always look at the printing costs. I have an HP printer, (Photosmart C5180) and the printing costs are great. I can print 150 photos on one set of ink that only costs $36, photo paper included. I recommend you look into something like this to save you big bucks in the future on ink costs.
