How long does an ink cartridge last in a printer?

I have a HP printer all-in-one.I put the ink cartridge in my printer.I printed 18 pictures.The ink is almost finished.Is it normal?It says that the level of ink is only estimated.And actualy ink level may vary.
I put the ink an hour ago!

Cheap all in one printers use ink cartridges that hold very little ink. The most common mistake among people who purchase printers is that they buy the cheapest one they can find. I can print 150 photos on one set of ink that only costs $36, photo paper included. I recommend you look into something like this to save you big bucks in the future on ink costs.
