How do I trick someone into eating food with a red ribbon on it?
I’m playing a game in a history course where we recreate the time of Henry VIII and the Reformation Parliament. I need to get a certain character to eat a “poisoned” food – one with a red ribbon, but can’t get caught. Any ideas? I’m open to any deceit necessary!
put the ribbon on the bottom of the cookie! does the person have to eat it? what if you just let the people pick their cookies and then find out if they die? or you could put different-colored ribbons on all the cookies and make only one red..

Having published a paper on fun Pirate Party Invitations I have been inundated with requests to do something similar for girls parties, hence Princess Party Invitations. Most girls love the idea of being a princess and with the accessories around today, it’s relatively easy to transport them all to an enchanted land of make believe. Fairytales are full of princesses and this makes it an easy fancy dress or costume party theme to organise as they can all come as princesses for the day. So if you are planning a princess party, it’s time to sprinkle the fairy dust and make someone’s dream come true as we look at some fun ideas for your invitationsÂ…Â…. Fun ideas for your Princess Birthday Party Invitations Princess in the Tower Invitation This is a great way of starting the party for your guests at the earliest point, but it needs some careful planning before you can write out your invitations. First you need to write out what you want the invitation needs to state, this should include; name of guest, name of party giver, date, time and location at a minimum, and can should also include dress code if you want everyone to dress up. Around this, you need to develop a fairytale about a princess trapped in a tower by an evil witch and that by solving the clues below they will be able to locate the princess when they come to the party and claim their prize. Ok, letÂ’s get real. You don’t have a princess, you’ve never met an evil witch (mother-in-laws don’t count) and you don’t live anywhere near a tower – but hey this is make believe. By the way, if you do have a princess, or are an evil witch it’s only humour! Having prepared the information you need to encode it. The way you do this will depend on the age of your guests. Visual clues work best across all age groups and you can get ideas for this from most children’s puzzle books. Remember it doesn’t have to be complicated just FUN! A good solution is to use a word game ‘my first is in xxxxxxxxxxx and not in zzzzzzxxzzzz’. If each guest has a letter then arranging the letters should give the location to the princess. On the day, have a small prize (with the guest’s name on it) so that they can find the princess and claim their own prize. It is always advisable to include the correct answer to the solved puzzle on the back of the invitation otherwise you may not get any guests if you’ve made it too hardÂ… Royal Announcement Invitation Start your invitation with a royal proclamation; King (insert name) and his Queen (Mrs insert name) proudly announce a celebration party to mark the birthday of their daughter the Princess (insert name). You can continue this along a fairytale them is you want using typical fairytale language not forgetting to start with ‘Once upon a time’.
Other ‘must use’ words include magical, enchanted, royal and loyal subjects of the land, to take place at the royal palace of, etc. Royal Treasure Map Invitation With these invitations, all of the guests receive a piece of a map of the enchanted castle (party venue) and are instructed to bring it with them to the party. As they arrive, their piece of the ‘map’ is added to the rest – cut into jigsaw shapes helps the reassembly of the map by smaller children – until the whole map is assembled. Time should be taken so that the answer cannot be seen until all of the pieces are assembled – use dummy clues to assist in this, perhaps these can lead to the dragon. Always keep a copy of each clue just in case someone cannot make it to the party. These are three princess party invitation ideas, now for a few of tips. Royal invitations would look best on parchment or regal type paper, written or typed in a flowing handwriting style.
To make simulated aged parchment use heavyweight paper and age it by staining it in a weak solution of tea. If you want a few darker spots, leave a few (not too many) coffee granules on the damp paper – these will spread with the dampness in the paper. Dry with a weight on top to retain a flat surface. You cannot imagine royal invitations being folded and given out in plain envelopes; this would never be good enough. Red ribbon and sealing wax with a royal seal made using a small coin (unusual foreign coin works best) and small length of red ribbon (or child’s favorite color) and then the invitation rolled and held with more wax for the ultimate in luxury – this will require a responsible adult or well supervised child to complete. Handing out these invitations should get your party off to a flying start and make you the Queen of the party. Have an enchanting time.
