Continuous ink flow systems are known by many names. Some people call them continuous ink systems, CISS or CIS. No matter what name you use for them, they all function the same.
As ink is used by the cartridge and printhead, ink is replaced automatically. Rather than air being drawn into the ink cartridge to replace the space that ink once occupied, ink replaces ink.
